My Hero Academia has to stop breaking my heart like this.
This volume includes the conclusion of the Overhaul arc, and holy shit it’s intense. Everyone is awesome and all my feelings are hurt. Please never let anyone hurt Kirishima ever again. I love my perfect rock son. The death made me devastated. Eri is the sweetest thing and I am so glad she’s safe. Mirio deserves the world and I want him to be the happiest hero ever. Hearing more about Overhaul’s whole backstory and his villainous plan was great, as was the swerve with Shigaraki and the League of Villains becoming involved at the very end. Just *chef kiss*
The begin the next section of story here with Bakugo and Todoroki going to take their licensing exams since they failed the last time. This time they end up working with Camie and Inasa from Shiketsu High and they are tasked with basically babysitting and corralling a bunch of little kids who are just getting control of their powers. It’s comedic effect mostly but it’s cute to see Todoroki and Bakugo, two of the more stoic characters, act a little more silly.
The final panel of this volume is WEIRD and chilling and I love Aoyama and when this series adds in random odd shit so I am all about this strange storyline. Is there a sinister subplot? A crush? Did Midoriya break an ever important fashion rule? WHO KNOWS! I’m so psyched. I love this series so much.
