You’re That Bitch

Yes I am

I don’t know what you expect when you pick up a book by Bretman Rock if you do not expect it to be written in his voice. Bretman is excellent, funny, and self-confident, which comes off in spades in this book. It’s precisely what you’d imagine as far as a Bretman Rock memoir/essay collection goes. This is mainly made up of stories from Bretman’s life in the Philippines and then in America, as well as how he broke into being a social media influencer. It’s written in a very conversational style, which may be a turn-off to some. At times, the lack of punctuation and spelling errors bothered me, but Bretman wrote this in the colloquial way he speaks, so it is true. I think the audiobook would be the better option if you wanted to read this, as it’s read by Bretman and thus not only adds a lot to the stories he tells but also tones down many grammatical and structural issues. Overall, it was exactly what I expected, and I enjoyed it.
