Sexy times!
Holy hell, did this series take a turn! At the end of the first book, Rin and Chiharu are trying to figure out where they stand concerning one another. Rin is overtly smitten with Chiharu and is willing to do whatever it takes to allow Chiharu to fall in love with him and for them to become a family. Rin is ready to break away from the traditions of the gods and the fable he is the star of if it means he can be with Chiharu. On the other hand, Chiharu is dealing with his slow and new-found attraction to Rin and how to manage his emotions, knowing he’s only really here to be the devoured bride of a dangerous god. When another god attacks them both and Rin allows his proper form to surface, shit goes wild, and more lore surrounding Rin’s existence comes to light.
Aside from this volume’s plot building and backstory context, the romance goes from two to one hundred in about ten pages. Obviously, I knew these two would get together, but hello, sex! There’s a pretty detailed sex scene between the two, and they navigate how to bang as a dragon god and human and have sex as two men. It’s written nicely, and there’s a lot of passion (to say the least) and some very intense blowjob images (get it, Chiharu!). Still, the love the two are developing for one another is the core sentiment of the story, which is sweet. But be prepared for the extensive sex scene if you’re not into that (though it’s a Mature rated manga and says so on the back, so read the summaries, people!).
