Still a bit of filler
I genuinely adore this series, but the “filler” content has been a bit too much for me in the past few volumes. I’ve enjoyed reading, but I’m here for the central conflict between the Odanna and Aoi. Kakuriyo remains a fun read with many amusing side characters. Still, we’re getting to the point where there are so many one-off side characters the story feels bogged down and not as intriguing as before. The selling point of this series is the tension between the Odnana and Aoi, so having him not in large chunks of the story makes it a bit of a chore to read. I still love the idea and the world in this series, but I want there to be some progression!
